This page shows the cookie policies used by THE YARD S.R.L

This statement is provided pursuant to art. 13 of the General Regulation for the Protection of Personal Data EU 2016/679  (hereinafter referred to as GDPR – General Data Protection Regulation) in particular for those interacting with the web services of The Yard Hotel in Milan, that can be accessed online at:

https://www.theyardplaces.com/the-yard-milan/

The policy is applicable only to the website of The Yard Hotel in Milan, while it does not apply to other websites that may be reached by the user via links.

The policy is also inspired by the 2009/136/CE Directive of November, 25 2009 and the General Provision of the Personal Data Protection Authority “Identifying simplified procedures to provide information and acquire consent for the use of cookies” of May 8, 2014.

This Cookie Policy is an integral part of The Yard Hotel’s Privacy Policy.

1. Cookie Definitions and Characteristics

Cookies are small text files that can be used by websites to make the browsing experience more efficient for the user.

Cookies store and transmit information from your first visit. In the event of subsequent visits, they transmit up-to-date information to optimize the browsing experience by remembering actions and preferences (such as language, display settings, any login data, etc.) so that you don’t have to set them on subsequent visits.

There are different types of cookies that depending on their characteristics and functions may be stored on your device for a set period of time (even years) and are referred to as persistent cookies, while other cookies are deleted automatically when you close the browser, the so-called session cookies.

These technologies therefore involve the processing of personal data and as such are subject to the binding legislation on the subject.

In line with the Applicable Regulations, we are not required to ask your consent for the use of cookies that are strictly necessary for the proper functioning and operation of the website (called technical cookies) and analytical cookies, that is cookies cookies for aggregate statistical purposes, therefore anonymous. However, we need your explicit consent for the use of first and third party profiling cookies that create profiles to send you advertisements in line with the preferences you expressed while browsing our website.

2. Type of cookies used on this site

Technical cookies

These cookies allow the site to function properly. This category includes the cookies needed for the proper functioning of the website and the functional cookies that allow the user to enjoy a browser experience based the choices he/she has expressed (e.g. language, etc.).

In accordance with current regulations, we also use technical cookies to keep track of the consent given by users to receive third-party profiling and analytics cookies.

The use of permanent technical cookies or session cookies (that is, that are not stored permanently on the user’s computer and are deleted when the browser is closed) is strictly limited to the technical provision of the service requested by the user and to the transmission of session identifiers (which consist of random server-generated numbers) required to enable safe and efficient navigation of the site and its applications.

The technical cookies used on this site avoid the use of other computer techniques that could be detrimental to the confidentiality of users’ browsing.

Analytical cookies

These cookies help us to understand, through data collected anonymously and aggregated, how users interact with our website providing us with information about the pages visited, the time spent on the site, the type of platform used, the number of clicks on a given page, any malfunctions, etc.

Statistical cookies help website owners understand how visitors interact with websites by collecting and transmitting information anonymously.

We use Google Analytics to collect and analyse anonymous information on the use of the website for statistical purposes without acquiring personal information that could identify the user. We use these cookies in a way comparable to all intents and purposes to technical cookies, therefore, the explicit consent of the person concerned is not required.

Profiling cookies

Third-party profiling cookies are used to record and produce reports of user actions on the site in order to measure the effectiveness of an advertisement and present targeted advertising to the user.

In particular, these cookies allow remarketing, that is, every time a new visitor accesses the website, the code releases a persistent anonymous cookie to the browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc.). Later when the visitor tracked by remarketing cookies surfs the web, the cookie allows the remarketing provider to run ads to promote the services of the owner of the installed cookies, ensuring that these ads are shown only to people who have already visited your site.

The intent is to show the user ads that are relevant and engaging, in line with previous browsing experiences so as to “follow” the users even after they have left our website.
